Lieutenant Howard F Jersild

This information on Lieutenant Howard F Jersild was furnished to me by his Grandson, Howard F Jersild, II. Lieutenant Jersild was killed in action by a Japanese kamikaze plane near Leyte in the South Pacific, while serving as Gunnery Officer of a Navy Armed Guard crew on the SS Alcoa Pioneer. He was survived by a young wife and three small children.
